Aaron Johnson
I am the owner and head guide of Grand Staircase Adventure Guides, LLC. I have been backpacking in the Grand Staircase- Escalante National Monument and in the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area since 1999. Over the past 12 years I have had the opportunity to backpack in the following areas:
* Utah (Escalante, High Uintas, Zion National Park, Cedar Canyon, Pine Valley Mountains, and American Fork Canyon)
* Washington (Mount Stuart, Enchantments, and Mount Adams)
* Wyoming (Grand Tetons, Wind River Range)
* Colorado (White River National Forest, Rocky Mountain National Park)
When I am not out hiking in the desert, I enjoy skiing, mountaineering, canyoneering, rock-climbing, road-tripping, reading, watching movies, eating out, and spending time with my lovely wife Amanda.

Amanda Johnson
Math teacher by trade, I am the part-time receptionist, head menu-planner, editor-in-chief and senior flower-photographer for Grand Staircase Adventure Guides, LLC. In the last seven years, I have backpacked in many of the areas Aaron has, doggedly failing to match his incredible speed and stamina. He has used me as his guiding guinea pig and, in dealing with my tantrums, has learned to tailor his style to other people's ability levels and previous backpacking experience or lack thereof.
